HV farmers make case to Rep. Hayworth over growing costs

Some Orange County farmers got their chance to voice their concerns about the growing costs of operating here in New York as Rep. Nan Hayworth (R - N.Y.) toured some local businesses Tuesday.

One of the stops on Hayworth's tour was the Bellvale Dairy Farm in Warwick, where she spoke with farmers about lowering the cost of maintaining their businesses.

Farmers say that high fuel prices and excessive taxes, coupled with the low cost of milk, are taking a serious toll on their bottom line.

Hayworth assured concerned farmers that several bills were recently passed to help lower gas prices, and to keep taxes from going up.
