Yorktown McDonald's helps raise money for teen

A McDonald's eatery in Yorktown is holding a fundraiser tonight to help a young employee who has recently undergone a heart transplant operation.Miles Banks, 18, attends Peekskill High School and works part time at the McDonald's on Crompond Road in Yorktown. A couple of weeks ago, a donor was found for Banks, who has a heart condition, and he received a transplant at Westchester Medical Center. Lorriane Paris, the general manager of the Yorktown eatery, says the McDonald's organization often holds charity events, but because it's for Banks, it's very special.The 18-year-old's teachers, classmates and teammates at Peekskill High School have volunteered to work tonight at McDonald's between 5 p.m. and 8 p.m. The eatery will donate 10 percent of all the profits from the dinner hours to the Banks family to help with the teen's expenses.
