Ex-Councilwoman Annabi's corruption trial delayed until 2012

The corruption trial for former Yonkers City Councilwoman Sandy Annabi, scheduled to begin next month, has been pushed back until next year. Federal prosecutors hit Annabi with a new indictment last night, which added a new charge of conspiracy to defraud taxpayers and dropped two other counts. The judge was not happy about the change and postponed the trial. He told prosecutors, "It stinks, it smells..." Annabi is accused of taking $167,000 in bribes in exchange for her votes on two controversial developments in Yonkers, including Ridge High. She has pleaded not guilty.Ex-councilwoman accused of taking bribes faces judgeLawyer for ex-councilwoman says she never saw alleged bribe moneyAlleged co-conspirators in Yonkers bribery case maintain innocence
