Yonkers dad fatally gunned down overnight

A Yonkers man says his 20-year-old son, who has a son of his own, was fatally shot last night during some kind of altercation between groups.

John Nunez-Lopez was fatally shot around 9:30 p.m. in front of 160 Willow St. after some kind of dispute between Nunez, his friends and another group, according to his father.

Nunez-Lopez's father says that his son underwent surgery at Jacobi Medical Center in The Bronx early this morning, but that the multiple gunshot wounds were simply too much. Police say a 20-year-old Yonkers man is in custody for the shooting and facing murder charges.

Nunez-Lopez leaves behind a 2-year-old son. His death marks the second fatal shooting in the city this year.
