Peekskill city manager denies making racist comment

The Peekskill city manager is denying allegations that he made a racist remark during a recent training seminar with workers at City Hall.

Rick Finn is accused of making an insensitive statement while a trainer was leading a discussion on how to address an audience, even if the speaker is unsure what type of communication style the audience prefers.

Finn said during a news conference today that he asked the leader, "Does this carry true for different races and cultures? What if the entire room was filled with African-Americans, is this still true?" He said that the comment is being blown out of proportion.

Community activists say they plan to march through the town on Monday, demanding City Hall take action against Finn.
