Plan to let WC residents into Rye Playland for free may be vetoed

County Executive Rob Astorino (R-Westchester) says he'll likely veto a plan to eliminate the entrance fee at Rye Playland for Westchester residents.

The $5 fee would still be paid by others, but it is a reduction from the usual $10 fee paid in the past. All attendees would have to pay for rides, food and entertainment as usual.

A spokesman for Astorino said that the park is losing millions already and reducing income will just add to the losses.

Democratic County Legislator Judith Meyers says she thinks there are enough votes to override any potential veto.
