WC County Board overrides veto on redistricting plan

The Westchester County Board has voted to override a veto by County Executive Rob Astorino (R-Westchester) over a redistricting plan for the county?s legislative districts.

The new boundaries split the City of Peekskill and the Town of Harrison.

The plan was originally passed by the board by a 12-5 vote, but Astorino vetoed the plan, saying the process was flawed and rushed.

The new boundaries will remain in place until the next census in 2020.
