Violent storms kill 12 in OK, KS, AR

(AP) - The Oklahoma Medical Examiner's office says at least eight people have died in severe storms that raked across the state.

Spokeswoman Cherokee Ballard said Wednesday morning that atleast five people, including a young child, are dead in CanadianCounty, two are dead in Logan County and one in Grady County. Allof the counties are located in the Oklahoma City metropolitan area.

Ballard didn't have any further details.

Violent storms swept through a chunk of the central U.S. lateTuesday and early Wednesday. Two deaths were also reported inArkansas and two more in Kansas.
