Players Club bar closes after losing license

A Nanuet bar has closed after the State Liquor Authority revoked its license to sell alcohol, following investigations by police into drug and prostitution activity at the Rockland hotspot.

Police say there were four different occasions over the last year when an undercover officer was able to buy cocaine at the Players Club on Route 59, but that was not the only trouble they had at the location. An officer had also been offered sex for money by two of the club's dancers recently, and four people were stabbed there during a fight in January.

The attorney for the club's owner says his client denies the charges by the State Liquor Authority and will plead not guilty.
