Man drowns off the coast of Harbor Island Park

Officials say that a 28-year-old man drowned off the coast of Harbor Island Park in Mamaroneck over the weekend.

Investigators say that Larvell Paylor, of Mount Vernon, and his girlfriend were swimming at the park with no lifeguard on duty at around 6 p.m. Sunday when he drowned.

The beach has numerous "No Lifeguard on Duty" and "Swimming Prohibited" signs posted.

Police dive teams searched Harbor Island for hours and found Paylor's body at around 4 a.m. today.
