Police probe theft, threats at Orangeburg restaurant

Police are investigating who stole thousands of dollars and painted swastikas and anti-Semitic threats on a restaurant in Orangeburg.

Ed Rudzin, the owner of Cassie's Restaurant on Route 303, says he found the eatery burglarized and vandalized when he arrived Monday.

Officials say the swastikas were painted on the outside, while a death threat, written in German, was found written on an inside office door. They say the threat translates to, "We want to kill the Jews."

Anyone with information about the burglary and threats is asked to call Orangeburg police at 845-359-3700.
