Westchester flight makes emergency landing in Washington, D.C.

A plane out of the Westchester County Airport had to make an emergency landing today.

Delta Flight 4916 took off shortly after 6 a.m. bound for Atlanta with 58 passengers aboard. After the crew detected the unspecified mechanical problem, the plane safely landed less than an hour later at Dulles International Airport outside Washington, D.C.

A spokesperson for Delta says the flight is operated as Delta Connection. She says the airline's maintenance department is investigating the cause of the problem.

Delta rebooked all of the passengers to their final destinations.
