Yonkers man convicted of attacking ex-girlfriend
A Yonkers man has been found guilty today of attacking his former live-in girlfriend with a tire iron back in March.
Police say Christopher Walters hit the young woman in the head and hand, and broke her finger. The victim's 2-year-old son witnessed the entire attack.
Following the attack on Stanley Avenue, authorities say Walters climbed onto a roof and threatened to jump, causing a police standoff that lasted for hours. He was later grabbed by officers and brought down safely.
Walters could be looking at 15 years in state prison when he is sentenced Jan. 24.
