Jets and Giants put playoff bids in jeopardy
LeSean McCoy ran for three touchdowns to set two team records, and the Philadelphia Eagles routed the New York Jets 45-19 Sunday.
The loss snapped New York's three-game winning streak, dropping the Jets (8-6) into a tie with Cincinnati for the final wild-card spot in the AFC.
Michael Vick threw for 274 yards and a touchdown, and also ran for a score in his second game back after missing three with broken ribs.
The playoff hopes of the New York Giants were dealt a severe blow as they lost at home to the Redskins, 23-10. Washington quarterback Rex Grossman threw a touchdown pass and Darrel Young scored on a six-yard run in the Redskins big win.
The victory was just Washington's second in 10 games.
The loss knocked the 7-7 Giants out of first place in the NFC East. They trail the Cowboys by a game with two to go, including one with Dallas on the final weekend. The Giants still can win the NFC East if they win their final two games against the Jets and Cowboys.
