Cops: Man arrested for stabbing in ex-girlfriend's apartment

A Peekskill man is under arrest today after police say he stabbed another man in his ex-girlfriend's apartment.

Police say it was about 11:30 p.m. yesterday when they were called in for an altercation at the Stuhr Gardens Apartments on Vail Avenue in Peekskill.

Police say Carell Torres, 29, broke into the apartment and got into a fight with another man. They say Torres pulled a knife and stabbed the man once in the back.

Another resident heard the commotion and dialed 911.

When police arrived, they say Torres ran into the woods, but was caught a short time later. Torres has been charged with burglary and assault.

The stabbing victim was taken to the hospital and he's expected to be OK.
