Falling tree almost kills man in Yonkers

Falling limbs have done much more damage than knock down power lines across the Hudson Valley.

A driver in Yonkers narrowly avoided injury when a tree fell and hit his car.

Tom Sassalos had just parked on McLean Avenue before heading into work when a tree uprooted and completely crushed his vehicle and a billboard.

Sassalos said he would have been in serious trouble had he been in the car. "Two minutes after I parked the car I was in the middle of the street when I heard a crack and I was running. If I was there three more minutes, I was dead."

Amazingly, no one in the area was hurt by the tree.
