In Yonkers, frayed nerves over power outages

The record-setting October snow cut power to thousands of Westchester residents, and many in Yonkers are growing incensed over being without heat and electricity for days. Residents in the Lincoln Park section say 81 homes are without power. One woman says she has lost hundreds of dollars in food because of the outage. Many residents say they think Con Edison dropped the ball in responding to outages. Con Edison spokesman Allan Drury says there's nearly 1,000 workers out in Westchester working to restore power. He denies that the utility was ill-prepared for the storm."We're a 24/7 company," he says. "Responding to emergencies is what we do."
