Murtagh, Spano rumble over union ties

Just one week before voters head to the polls, the race for the Yonkers mayorship is heating up and the gloves are coming off. Republican candidate John Murtagh came out swinging Tuesday, accusing his Democratic opponent, Mike Spano, of accepting the bulk of his campaign cash from labor unions. Murtagh says it would be impossible for Spano to ask for tough concessions from unions because so many of them have donated to his campaign.Spano shot back, calling Murtagh's claims the "height of hypocrisy."

"When labor gave him money it was OK, and when they stopped, he denounced it," Spano says.VIDEO: Yonkers mayoral debateYonkers mayoral candidates spar over Ridge Hill scandalMurtagh calls on Justice Dept. to regulate Yonkers election
