Funeral held for Kent woman killed by falling utility pole

Family and friends gathered today at Saint James the Apostle Church in Carmel to say goodbye to Frances Byrne who was killed last Saturday during the snowstorm.

Byrne, 48, was killed when a utility pole fell on her while she was walking her dog near her home.

Her body was discovered by NYSEG crews the next morning while they worked to restore power to the area.

Byrne leaves behind a husband, NYPD Lt. Terence Byrne, and a 22-year-old daughter, Erin.
