12-year-old boy shot in Yonkers

A 12-year-old boy is recovering this morning after getting shot in the eye by another boy at a park in Yonkers.

It happened around 5 p.m. yesterday at Healy Park near the intersection of Park Hill and Van Cortland Park avenues.

Witnesses told police the boy was injured when another 12-year-old pulled out a BB gun and opened fire.

The victim underwent surgery and is at the Westchester Medical Center.

Police have not released a motive for the violence.
