Mike Spano begins transition as Yonkers mayor-elect

Just hours after Mike Spano declared victory in the Yonkers mayoral race, he got to work beginning the transition into his new job at City Hall.

Spano appointed his brother John Spano to head up his transition team. John had previously served on the transition teams of Gov. Andrew Cuomo (D-N.Y) and the Westchester County clerk.

The mayor-elect also put all City Hall employees on notice, saying he expects all appointed employees to hand in their resignations. He said that they can reapply for their positions, but he wants to "clean house."

Spano says that he does not want to fail Yonkers and wants to restore pride for Yonkers in the people of the city.
