Jury in alleged serial killer trial hears closing arguments

Closing arguments were heard today in the trial of an alleged serial killer charged with murdering three women in Yonkers.

Francisco Acevedo, a factory worker from Mount Vernon, is on trial for the rape and murder of three prostitutes more than two decades ago.

He allegedly killed his first victim back in 1989. All three women, whose nude bodies were dumped in Yonkers, were tied up and strangled.

Acevedo was arrested after a mandatory DNA sample linked him to the crimes two years ago.
