Putnam SPCA launches probe into dead dogs

The Putnam County SPCA is investigating after several dogs were found dead in the county.

The latest dogs found were a pit bull and Yorkie on Ninham Road in Kent. The Putnam County SPCA says both the Yorkie and the pit bull were puppies and appeared to have been dead for at least a week because of the decaying condition of their bodies.

They say it's unclear why the animals were dumped in the area, calling incidents such as these rare in Putnam County.

The Putnam County SPCA says none of the dead dogs had microchips or other identification tags. It is looking to see whether the incidents are connected.
