WC veterans struggling to find work

Many veterans in Westchester are struggling to find work once returning from overseas, with an unemployment rate well above the national average. In Mount Vernon, city officials say they are trying to make it easier for veterans to find work, and are helped by the Mount Vernon Veterans Service Agency. "We've been working with them, to try and assist them with employment," says agency Director Will DuBose. "The homeless population is extremely a major problem." Among those in attendance at today's ceremonies at City Hall, Mayor Clinton Young, Jr. said future generations must never forget the sacrifices of former servicemen and women.
