Police: 21 accused of selling drugs in Westchester
Police say that a massive undercover drug raid in The Bronx led to the arrests of 21 people.
Those arrested are accused of selling drugs like heroin in Westchester.
At least two heroin overdoses in the Yorktown area were believed to be connected to the Bronx drug dealers.
Nine months ago, 21-year-old Gwendolyn Farrell and 22-year-old Thomas Plant died from an accidental heroin overdose in Yorktown.
The high cost of prescription drugs has caused some adolescents to resort to heroin, which is much less expensive, according to experts.
While people in the Yorktown community were shocked by the deaths, they say drug abuse in the suburbs has become all too common.
