Pelham Manor cop hit by car in critical condition

A Pelham Manor police officer is in critical condition after he was struck by a car yesterday during a traffic stop. Officer Michael Tillistrand, 28, was hit shortly before 6:30 p.m. at the intersection of Boston Post Road and Edgewood Avenue. He was reportedly assisting another officer at the time of the incident, and was rushed to Jacobi Medical Center with severe head injuries. Tillibrand spent five years with the NYPD, and served as an Army captain in Afghanistan. He has been working in Pelham Manor for only five months. Police are still investigating the incident, but say that dark and rainy conditions likely played a factor in the crash.Cop struck during Pelham Manor traffic stop
