New push to turn Tappan Zee Bridge into a park

There's now a new push to transform the Tappan Zee Bridge once a new span is finally built.

People turned out last night at Greenburgh Town Hall to hear all about it.

One idea is to make the span a walkway for pedestrians similar to Walkway Over the Hudson in Poughkeepsie or the High Line in Manhattan.

Supporters say it would become a major tourist attraction and generate millions in revenue.

Proponents of the plan say the price tag to transform the span into a pedestrian walkway will cost less than the millions expected to demolish it altogether.
