Wakes planned for Carmel highway workers in murder-suicide

Wake services are being planned for two Carmel highway workers who died this week in a murder-suicide that police say brought a tragic end to a love triangle. Police say Michael Purdy, 56, and Michael Boccardi, 47, were friends and coworkers at the Town of Carmel Highway Department. They say Purdy was seeing Boccardi's estranged wife, and that Boccardi fatally shot Purdy Tuesday night in a jealous rage after seeing the two together.Boccardi then turned the gun on himself, police say.

The deaths have shaken up the community of Carmel. Flags in the town are flying at half-staff, and grief counselors have been provided for town workers who are coping with the sudden loss of two of their coworkers.Wake services for both men will be held this Sunday in Mahopac.Cops: Mahopac murder-suicide was result of love triangle
