Con Edison shuts down Rye Colony Apartments cooking gas service

With Thanksgiving just a few days away, some families in Rye are concerned that they won't be able to cook their festive meal for the holiday.

On Friday, electrical company Con Edison sent out notices to 160 families that live at the Rye Colony Apartments saying there was a gas main that needed to be repaired on their property.

Subsequently, Con Edison temporarily shut down cooking gas service indefinitely while extra crews are working around the clock to fix the problem.

While most residents are upset at the inconvenience, some residents are happy that management is taking care of the problem now.
