Police: Suitcase found in Yonkers may contain human remains

Police in Yonkers are trying to piece together evidence after finding a suitcase that they say may contain human remains.

Authorities say DPW workers were clearing brush at about 1:30 p.m. on Spring Road and Conway Terrace when they discovered a suitcase with a foul order emanating from it.

Workers called police and detectives rushed to the wooded area, where they unlocked the luggage and apparently discovered decaying remains inside.

The remains have been transported to the medical examiner's office for further testing.
