Woodbury Commons gears up for Black Friday traffic

Police and residents in the area of the Woodbury Common Outlets are gearing up for the big crowds that are expected this coming shopping season.

Thousands of shoppers are expected to converge on routes 6, 17, 32 and the New York Thruway looking for bargains at dozens of outlet stores on Black Friday.

In the past, shoppers have found themselves bogged down in traffic and desperate to find parking.

Officials say there are plans on the drawing board to create a "ring road" to improve traffic flow and add a little over 900 parking spaces in the future.

But until that project is completed, Woodbury police say that people are going to need patience when it comes to Black Friday traffic.
