Backlash hits department stores over 'Black Friday' hours

Retailers that are hoping to cash in on the holiday shopping season by opening earlier than usual for "Black Friday" are dealing with backlash from employees.

Target, Macy's, Kohl's, the Gap and Best Buy are opening at midnight on Thanksgiving. The plan has so infuriated one Target worker in Nebraska that he started a petition protesting the move. The petition has been signed by 190,000 people so far.

Paul Armstrong, who shops at a Target in Mount Vernon, is opposed to the new hours, but says if Target is going to do it anyway, the company should at least make it worthwhile for workers.

"They should pay them double-time," he says.
