Autopsy: Man's remains in suitcase found in Yonkers
An autopsy of the human remains found in a suitcase in the woods near a Yonkers cemetery determined today that the victim was a man.
Investigators say it was just after 1:30 p.m. yesterday when DPW workers clearing out a wooded area near St. Mary's Cemetery noticed a suitcase. They also noticed a foul odor, so detectives were called to the area. When they unlocked the luggage, they found a partial human torso. Police say the remains were badly decomposed.
Police are hoping DNA may help determine the man's identity.
