Mariano Rivera saves best for Thanksgiving
The New York Yankees didn't make it to the World Series this fall, but they still have an awful lot to be thankful for, and today star pitcher Mariano Rivera shared the wealth for Thanksgiving at his New Rochelle restaurant.
Rivera hosted a Thanksgiving feast for more than 40 underprivileged kids and their mothers at his New Rochelle restaurant - 42 Clubhouse Grill. The feast is all part of his charity, the Mariano Rivera Foundation, which focuses on helping children in need.
"I come from Panama and I had nothing," Rivera says.
For residents who want to raise money for Rivera's foundation, it's as simple as going down to the 42 Clubhouse Grill. The restaurant will donate $4.20 from every bill to a local soup kitchen.
