Yonkers H.S. students rally against hunger

Students at a Yonkers high school rallied against hunger today, gathering food and gift baskets for the needy. The event took place at Sacred Heart High School, where the gym was transformed into a nightclub setting for the annual Thanksgiving tradition. Students and staff put together more than 350 packages, and the principal said the program is crucial in a tough economy. "It's difficult for us to realize that there are so many people who are really in need," said Principal Agnes McNamara. "And it's a wonderful lesson for all these blessed children." The school has been participating in the rally for more than 50 years.
