Some stores jump-start Black Friday with Turkey Day deals

Some retail stores remained open today for shoppers attempting to cash in on holiday deals without the hassle of Black Friday crowds. The holiday shopping frenzy kicked off at 6 a.m. this morning at the Kmart in White Plains. Shoppers who were at the store had no qualms about spending the holiday picking up gifts. Management at the Kmart says it will close at 9 p.m. to give employees a bit of a break. The store will reopen tomorrow morning at 5 a.m. with Black Friday door-buster deals. Some other local stores are kicking off the holiday shopping season by opening tonight at midnight.
