Meals On Wheels delivers Thanksgiving dinner to seniors

Hundreds of seniors in the Hudson Valley were able to enjoy Thanksgiving dinner, thanks to the volunteers from the Meals On Wheels program.

The program, which delivers hot meals five days a week to senior citizens, had volunteers out yesterday bringing Thanksgiving to the program's recipients. Also on hand to help distribute meals was Rockland County Legislator Doug Jobson (R-Stony Point), who said the program is important to elderly citizens who may not be able to afford a hot meal.

"The shame is that as some people get on in age, they need a helping hand, to make sure they get something that's nourishing and good," said Jobson.
