Neighbors save elderly man from Yonkers house fire

An elderly man was saved from a fire in Yonkers by his next door neighbors.

The blaze ignited at the home on Rockney Road Sunday night. Officials say the family who lives next door smelled the fire, rushed over and helped get the man out of the home safely.

Firefighters arrived on the scene moments later and needed extra help to put out the fire. One firefighter was treated for minor injuries to his hand.

Investigators are still trying to figure out what caused the blaze.
