Rape accuser files civil suit against Lawrence Taylor

Former Giants football great Lawrence Taylor is being sued by the teenage girl he admitted having sex with in a case that led to his guilty plea to misdemeanor charges earlier this year.

The man known throughout the football world as "LT" is now a sex offender, but the woman at the center of his case, Cristina Fierro, today filed suit in federal court in New York. She is seeking compensatory and punitive damages to be determined at trial.

Fierro says she was not a prostitute when, at age 16, she met Taylor at the Montebello Holiday Inn on May 6, 2010. Her lawyer, Gloria Allred, says Fierro was beaten by a pimp and taken to Taylor, who forced himself on her.

Taylor's lawyer, Arthur Aidala, said in a statement that because of the suit, Taylor and other witnesses "will have to reveal the rather disparaging truth about Ms. Fierro." Information from the Associated Press was used in this report.
