North State Road in Briarcliff Manor shut down again

Repairs on North State Road in Briarcliff Manor are turning out to be more trouble than originally thought.

The road is shut down again as crews try to fix a sinkhole created when a crumbling underground culvert collapsed during Hurricane Irene.

The street connects Route 9A with the downtown Briarcliff business district.

Local stores say the timing couldn't be worse and that the road closure is hurting the holiday shopping season.

Officials hope the road can be partially reopened within the next week or two.
