Police: Yonkers teen brought loaded handgun to school
Authorities say a Yonkers teen was escorted off the grounds of his high school today for allegedly having a loaded handgun in his backpack. Officials say it happened at Roosevelt High School on Tuckahoe Road. They say 16-year-old Alrick Bucknor is now facing a felony charge of criminal weapon possession. School officials say a district safety officer discovered the weapon and confiscated it without issue. They say nobody was injured and it does not appear that Bucknor had threatened to use the gun. School representatives say Bucknor, who was new to the school, will be suspended for one year. He will also face a disciplinary hearing before he's allowed to return to school grounds.
