Classes resume at Sacred Heart H.S.

Classes resumed today at Sacred Heart High School in Yonkers, after the building was evacuted yesterday by police who were looking for a nearby man wanted on domestic violence charges.

Police were called to the school around 4 p.m. yesterday after someone called 911, saying they thought they spotted 35-year-old Harry Jackson inside. Jackson is wanted in a domestic violence dispute that occurred three blocks away from the school. Police evacuated teachers and students and searched throughout the school and in classrooms, but never found Jackson. Despite not finding him, nearby residents say they are glad the police took the precautions they did.

According to police, Jackson punched his girlfriend in the face, causing damage to her eye. Anyone who knows of his whereabouts is asked to call the Yonkers Police Department.
