Jury deliberations continue today in the trial of James Pileggi.

Jury deliberations continue today in the trial of a former Eastchester police officer who is accused in the deadly shooting of a friend.

James Pileggi is waiting to hear if the jury will acquit him of manslaughter. He is accused of shooting his friend, Andre Everett, with his off-duty weapon.

Officials say he was inside a car and showing off a Glock 26 pistol when the gun went off. Everett was outside the car and was struck in the neck.

Yesterday, the jury asked to hear testimony about how Pileggi handled his gun before it went off.

Pileggi faces 15 years behind bars if he's found guilty. His first trial in March ended when the judge declared a mistrial.Former cop indicted in shooting death
