Mount Vernon native Denzel Washington is making a multimillion-dollar donation to Fordham University.
The Academy Award-winning actor wants to give back to the college that helped him get his start.
Washington is giving his alma mater $2.25 million to establish a scholarship for minority acting students and to pay a top theater professor.
The first hire will be Phylicia Rashad, who played Claire Huxtable on "The Cosby Show."
