Mount Vernon mayor backs new Democratic candidate

Mount Vernon Mayor Clinton Young announced today he will be backing Democratic candidate and former Mayor Ernie Davis in the mayoral race.

Young says he made the decision out of respect for the democratic process.

Just this week, Davis was named the official winner of the primary, beating out City Comptroller Maureen Walker by 101 votes.

Walker says she intends to continue campaigning as the Conservative candidate.
