Reward offered in Mount Vernon murder case

Nearly two months after a Mount Vernon woman was shot and killed in the street near her home, police are hoping a reward will help lead to an arrest in the case.Gloria Nartey, 27, was shot just steps away from her South 12th Avenue home as she returned from a nearby store, investigators say. According to police, Nartey was an innocent bystander and was hit when a gunman opened fire on two men who were walking nearby. Signs pleading for information have been stapled up and down the block, but now police hope that a $1,500 reward will help garner new leads in the case.Mount Vernon woman killed in hail of gunfireMount Vernon residents fed up with violence in wake of shootings
