Report: More than 100K jobs created last month

A new jobs report for the month of September says that more than 100,000 jobs were created across the nation.

However, unemployment remains at 9.1 percent nationwide, according to the report.

The numbers come as President Barack Obama is making his final push in Washington to pass his new $447 billion jobs bill, which he says will have significant effects on the economy and for middle-class families.

Republicans in Congress are opposed to the measure, saying it is nothing more than false hopes and just a giant tax increase.

The Senate is expected to take up the measure sometime next week.

The president has set a deadline of the end of this month for the passage of the bill.
