Tens of thousands march in Columbus Day parade in Manhattan

Tens of thousands marched down Manhattan's Fifth Avenue today to celebrate Columbus Day and Italian-American pride.

The parade featured more than 35,000 participants, including more than 100 bands and floats.

The event was organized by the Columbus Citizens' Foundation and is the 67th parade honoring famed Italian explorer Christopher Columbus.

Among the marchers were County Executive Rob Astorino (R-Westchester), Gov. Andrew Cuomo (D-N.Y.) and Archbishop Timothy Dolan.

"Everybody sort of morphs beautifully and graciously, into whatever tradition is being celebrated. I've seen it on St. Patrick's Day and today... we're all Italians," said Dolan.
