Nyack Hospital hopes to 'Blow Away' cancer

A hospital in Rockland County is recognizing Breast Cancer Awareness Month in a unique way.

A field at Nyack Hospital is now covered with hundreds of pinwheels spinning in the breeze.

It's part of a hospital's "Blowing Away Cancer" Drive, a community-based campaign spear-headed to get women diagnosed and treated, as early as possible.

Dr. Patricia Joseph says the it's just one way the hospital is trying to raise awareness; "This is a way to let women know they should take care of themselves and they should take care of their loved ones, urge people to go for the screening, urge women to go for the mammograms and hopefully pinwheels will be a very visual reminder of that."
