Van bursts into flames in Greenburgh

A van suddenly burst into flames this morning, shutting down a busy road in Greenburgh.

It happened around 8 a.m. on Aqueduct and Tarrytown roads, next to the Loman's shopping center.

Fire officials say the owner of the van parked and went into a nearby auto body shop. When he came out a few minutes later, his van was engulfed in flames.

Firefighters were able to get the fire under control in just a few minutes. They say a mechanical problem may be to blame.

No one was injured but Aqueduct Road was shut down for a short period of time.
